How to monitor network traffic through a Cisco SG/SFxxx switch

Configure Cisco SG/SFxxx Switches

  1. Navigate to the web interface of the switch, login and go to Administration > Diagnostics > Port and VLAN Mirroring
  2. To add a mirroring session click Add
  3. Provide mirroring session info
    Session ID - This identifies the mirror session
    Session type - Local port or VLAN

Note:

If you choose Local Port Based source, choose both Tx and Rx. Otherwise, choose the VLAN to mirror source.
4. Choose the destination port and then select **Allow Ingress Packets**

Note:

This is the port the monitor interface (physical sensor) or spare interface (virtual sensor) is plugged into.
  1. Click Apply
