Finishing your sensor installation

Just a few more steps

If you’re here, that means we’ve completed your SIEM installation on the backend and need your help to finish!

TIP:

If you haven’t been notified of a successful SIEM installation, you might have strayed too far off the Perch.Help path you were on – this probably isn’t the page you’re looking for.
  1. Drop the agents on each one of the hosts you expect to push logs from:
    1. Download: here.
      1. Instructions (Agent): here.
      2. Instructions (Syslog): here.
  2. Find your sensor ID:

    1. Log in to Perch, then scroll down to your sensor tile (it will show the name assigned to it at install).

    2. Click the blue breakout box in the right corner of the tile.

    3. Look at the address bar of your browser. The sensor ID will be the 4-5 digits at the end:

      https://app.perchsecurity.com/intelligence/sensors/YOURSENSORID_

  3. Verify that you’re seeing log files:

    1. Run the query below in Perchybana/Discover:

      perch_sensor_id:YOURSENSORID AND event_type:log
